I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Mattie Bower, Owner and Event Manager of Rain Effect Management.

Events have always been my thing, even before I realized they could be a career.

One of my earliest memories of event planning was helping transform a dance recital from a small gymnasium at the University of Guelph into a production held at the Events Centre, selling more than 600 tickets. It was then that I first recognized the power of bringing people together through a well-executed event.

That passion eventually led me to a professional career in the nonprofit sector, where I planned and supported a wide range of philanthropic events, from tournaments and community fundraisers to large-scale galas. Through each event, I learned that successful experiences are built on thoughtful planning, strong relationships, and a willingness to adapt when the unexpected happens.

What many see as chaos, I see as opportunity. I thrive in the fast-paced environment that events create and find satisfaction in bringing countless moving pieces together to achieve a common goal.

I founded Rain Effect Management to help organizations create meaningful, impactful events without pulling their teams away from their day-to-day priorities. By acting as an extension of your team, I ensure your event receives the attention it deserves while allowing your staff to remain focused on the work that drives your organization forward.

And yes, events may feel like my middle name—but it's actually Rain.

The inspiration behind Rain Effect Management comes from the role rain plays in growth. Just as rain provides the conditions needed for things to flourish, my goal is to help businesses grow through strategic, purposeful events that create meaningful connections, strengthen brands, and leave a lasting impact.

My goal is to help businesses create meaningful opportunities for growth through purposeful events. After all, when it rains, it pours.
